Military can’t be ordered around by the legislatures__(DHQ)

As  the Senate had made a suggestion earlier that the Chief of Army Staff should relocate to the North-East in order to properly coordinate activities of the joint services tackling Boko Haram insurgency in the region, the defense headquarters have now come to react on the suggestion.

Major General Chris Olukolade, The Director of the Defence Information, told Daily Newswatch in a telephone interview that the Senate resolution cannot become binding on the military unless being endorsed by President Goodluck Jonathan.
Apart from that, he said, that the military has no plans at the moment and has never discussed the possibility of relocating its key personnel to the region since the situation has not really called for such an action when the officers and men at the frontline are performing just well.
He stated that the Senate has no powers/authority to order  around the military about and indicated that the Armed Forces will not obey the directive any longer.

As Major General Chris the director of the defence information have said: Only Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria),who is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces can make such law or give such a directive to the military and not the Senate.”__Daily Newswatch>>>.
