of the super eagle said that “the Super Eagles current set will end the losing
run against Argentina at the World Cup.
The African champions
Nigeria(super eagle) face the South Americans again at Brazil 2014 after losing
for three consecutive times at the World
Cup to the two-time world champions.
But Mayana as Rufai is fondly being referred to by his
admirers told MTNFootball.com that Nigeria(super eagle) has now gathered enough
confidence and quality to stop the Argentinas in Brazil coming June 2014.
Rufai also said that the Argentina is one of the favourites
to win the World Cup no doubt, but I see the Eagles as tough and a team good
enough to beat them in Brazil,” who was in goal when Nigeria(super eagle) first
lost to Argentina 2-1 at the 1994 World Cup in the United States of America.
”I believe we have top and good players home and abroad.And
I therefore believe these Super Eagles will beat Argentina and also go on to do
well in the World Cup.” He said.
Both countries have clashed five times at full international
level with Argentina winning four of these meetings, while Nigeria recorded a
famous 4-1 win in a friendly match in Abuja 2011.
